The 1.2 release includes:

• complete rewrite of the Calendar, plus new resource booking system
• Calendar now fully supports groups as participants
• new ProjectManager applications using InfoLog and Calendar data
• new TimeSheet application (fully integrated into ProjectManager)
• SyncML to synchronise cell-phones, PDA's and outlook
• workflow application
• new instant messenger application chatty in contrib
• online help (manual) is now configurable and uses by default the pages from manual.egroupware.org (no need to download and permanent update the pages any more)
• phpSysInfo is updated and supports now PHP5 and Windows
• InfoLog list has now 2 views: details and no details, which are customizable via the user preferences
• new iCalServer package allowing to access the eGW calendar vi iCal
• and many more ...

The packages for 1.2 are organized a bit different now:

• eGroupWare package contains all stable and maintained applications
• eGroupWare-contrib (not for rpm) contains all unmaintained packages like email, comics, filescenter, ...
• eGroupWare-<appname> (rpm only) contains single packages, which require the eGroupWare or eGroupWare-core package to run

• eGW requires now MySQL 4.0+ (no more 3.23!), recommended is 4.1 or 5
• eGW requires now PHP 4.3+, recommened is PHP5 (SyncML requires PHP5!)
• group-id's are internally now negative to improve ldap support

Resources (new application)

• Resources is an inventory and resource booking application.
• If a resource is marked as bookable, it can be scheudled using calendar
• NOTE: Resouces ACL is category based!
  • Setup creates one resouce category for you as example and gives default group all rights to it.
  • You NEED to set ACL's for a category before you can use it in resources app!

Registration

• NOTE: If you want to use registration you need to configure an anonymous user for it and give him run-rights for the registation app.
