Organise and start video conferences with one click

EGroupware offers you various options for a video conference or webinar room. By integrating the Jitsi or BigBlueButton solutions into EGroupware, you can use the format that suits you best.

Video Meetings mit Jitsi

By integrating the open source solution Jitsi into EGroupware, you can easily set up video conferences or plan them with several participants. Jitsi enables video conferences and the sharing of screen content or a single browser window. You can either install your own Jitsi server, rent a DSGVO-compliant Jitsi server from KiwiTalk or register any public Jitsi server.

Jitsi server in times of home office

By default, EGroupware uses the Jitsi server of the Jitsi project meet.jit.si. For the EGroupware Cloud we use an “enterprise” Jitsi server from KiwiTalk, which is preset for all instances. With this service, we support work in the home office without additional effort or extra costs for our customers.

Videoconference via BigBlueButton (BBB)

EGroupware can now also set up video conferences via BigBlueButton. All you have to do is set up and configure your BigBlueButton server accordingly in the configuration of the status application. Our recommendation, if you do not have your own BigBlueButton server, simply rent the corresponding number of connections from bbbserver.de (GDPR compliant).

Learning and working with BBB

When using from EGroupware, you do not have to worry about creating rooms, you simply schedule your video conference in the calendar. EGroupware checks the number of connections and warns you of scheduling conflicts.

Share your screen content, a browser window or upload a presentation for your participants. Create a survey, use the integrated whiteboard or simply edit an Office document in parallel with Collabora Online.

See who is online

With the integrated status bar, you can immediately see who is currently “online” and can interact with colleagues immediately.

Start calls directly from EGroupware

The advantage for you as an EGroupware user is that you can also see from your home office whether your colleague is currently available.

With a right-click, you simply send him a message or start a video call.

Schedule a video conference or call directly

From the EGroupware address book, you can directly start a call or plan a conference with a “right click”. It does not matter whether the participant is an EGroupware user or an external contact. Even if you only know the email address of the participant, it is sufficient to invite him to the video call.

Data protection for video conferences

Since the data connection is encrypted at all times and the server is located in Germany, there are no data protection concerns. At present, this can look different when using foreign service providers, where sometimes data protection guidelines are not easily visible or sometimes the connection is not encrypted.
