To compose a message you can:
- Click on
in the first line in the FeLaMiMail screen. A new window will open automatically to compose a message. All fields are empty.
- Click on a sender in the list of messages in the FeLaMiMail screen. A new window will open automatically where you can compose a message. The sender is already registered as the recipient in the To field.
- When reading a message
- Reply to the existing message by clicking on the (Reply) symbol
to send a reply only to the sender or select the (Reply all) symbol
to send a reply to all.
- Forward messages by clicking on the (Forward) symbol
. The email will be forwarded including attachments to all selected recipients.
In each case a window will open where you can compose a message:
- In the top line you will find the following symbols and functions:

Send button to send a message.

Save as a template: Use to save an email as a template. Select the destination folder in your FeLaMiMail preferences.

Addressbook: Select the recipient from your address book.

Attachments: Use to attach files in your mail. Click on the symbol and look for the respective file which will be included as an Attachment at the end of the page.
- Save as InfoLog
empty box [] to check off: You can set the check mark by clicking on the symbol or box in the text. Once you check mark the box an InfoLog entry will be created when you send the message which is linked to all recipients (if they appear in the address book) and contains any eventual file attachments.
- Confirmation of receipt empty box [] to check off: If you set the check mark (either in the text or by clicking on the box), the recipient will be asked for a confirmation of receipt when he/she opens the message (if the program you are using supports this function).
- At the moment FeLaMiMail only supports the request for a confirmation of receipt when sending a message. You will not receive a confirmation for a request to yourself.
- Priority (selectable in the selection box) high, normal or low: This option is not functional at this time.
- Below this you can select an identity for the sender provided that you have created different identities. If necessary, identities can be created through your system administrator in the Administration area -> user accounts -> email account as additional email address.
- In the following fields you can manually input one or more recipients as To, Copy or Blind copy (the Auto fill in lists possible recipients which you may choose from using only the keyboard (arrow pointing downwards and upwards) or you can select a recipient from the address book by clicking on the
klicken symbol. Blind copy means that the recipent of an email does not know that the email was also sent as a blind copy to someone else.
- You can also enter another email address as Reply to which will be automatically entered as the recipient in the reply.
- With Folder you can select a folder to which the email should be sent, e.g. for an email to client xy the mails should also simultaneously be safed in client xy’s folder.
- In the Subject line you can enter any text you choose which also appears in the email as a subject line – see also FeLaMiMail main screen.
- Starting from FeLaMiMail version 1.4 in addition to a pure text it is also possible to include formatting using the Editor. Now you can change the font or font size or include bullets or numerations; in other words you can rudimentarily create a text lay out.
- Below the text window you can select a signature. You can administer, input or edit multiple signatures in FeLaMiMail preferences.
- At the end of the page below Attachments you can view all attached data through the symbol
(Attachments) including data name, data type, data size and the
symbol. This is also where you can delete attached data.
